Taste of India and Nepal

 

Day 01: Abroad - Delhi

As you arrive in Delhi for the start of the Taste of India and Nepal tour, you will be greeted at the airport by our tour representative who will escort you to the hotel where you can spend the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 02: Delhi

Embark on a tour of Old Delhi where you can explore the Jama Masjid and the Red Fort- splendid examples of Mughal architecture. Enjoy a cycle rickshaw amidst the bustling Chandni Chowk market, which is sure to be a unique experience as you shop for various ethnic Indian products. Post lunch, enjoy a whirlwind tour of New Delhi that includes visit to India Gate, Rashtrapati Bhawan, Qutab Minar and other governmental buildings. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 03: Delhi - Jaipur

Undertake a 4 hour drive to Jaipur that is situated at a distance of 260 kms and check into a hotel upon arrival. After relaxing a while, visit the splendid City Palace complex that has now been converted into a museum and see the various ancient art and artifacts belonging to the royal family of Jaipur. Also see the Hawa Mahal and Janatar Mantar. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 04: Jaipur

Visit the stupendous hilltop Amber Fort where you will be taken on the back of caparisoned elephants and witness the exotic beauty of the 18th century fort that is a mesmerizing blend of Hindu and Muslim architecture. Spend the rest of the day at leisure, browsing through the markets of Jaipur. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 05: Jaipur - Fatehpur Sikri - Agra

Post breakfast, set out for Agra. Enroute, visit the city of Fatehpur Sikri and see the Bulund Darwaza, the largest gateway in the world and Akbar's mausoleum.
Continue journey towards Agra. Upon arrival, check into a hotel and refresh yourself. Afterwards visit Agra's premier tourist attractions- Taj Mahal and Agra Fort. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 06: Agra - Gwalior - Orchha

Set out for Orchaa, situated in the state of Madhya Pradesh, 235 kms away. Enroute, stopover at Gwalior and visit the city's attractions that include the Gwalior Fort, the Gujri Mahal and the palace of Man Mandir.
Thereafter, continue drive to Orchha (124 kms) and check-in at hotel on arrival. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 07: Orchha - Khajuraho

Explore the town of Orchha that was once the seat of the Bundela kings and see the glorious remnants of the past in the form of Jehangiri Mahal, Raj Mahal and the Laxmi Narayan temple. The last two are specially noted for their exquisite mural and fresco paintings.
Post lunch, drive to Khajuraho, a mere 150 kms away. Witness the world famous Khajuraho Temple built by the Chandela rulers that are renowned for their erotic but aesthetic carvings. Afterwards, check into a hotel for overnight stay.

Day 08: Khajuraho - Varanasi

Board a flight for Varanasi. On arrival in Varanasi, you will be welcomed by the tour representative after which you will be taken for a short excursion to Sarnath. Sarnath is top Buddhist pilgrimage site and known as the place where Lord Buddha gave his first sermon. Check out he museum in Sarnath that houses an excellent collection of Buddhist art and sculptures found at the site. Return to Varanasi and check into a hotel for overnight stay.

Day 09: Varanasi - Kathmandu

Enjoy a boat ride on river Ganges and visit the ceremonial Ghats that Varanasi is renowned for. Check out the beautiful temple that birder the ghats and also browse through the bustling shops of Varanasi where you can buy the world famous Benarasi silk, among other things.
In the afternoon, board a flight for Kathmandu where on arrival, you will be greeted by the tour representatives and then escorted to the hotel for overnight stay.

Day 10: Kathmandu

Explore the city of Kathmandu. Visit the ancient temples- the Temple of Kumari, and the Hanuman Dhoka Temple that comprises of a series of 14 courtyards.
In the afternoon, make an excursion to Patan- that is the centre of arts and architecture, what with 136 courtyards and 55 major temples. Witness the Patan Durbar Square and the Patan Museum to get a glimpse into the extraordinary culture of this small Himalayan Kingdom. Return to hotel for overnight stay.

Day 11: Kathmandu

Visit the Bodhnath, the largest stupa in the world from where you can enjoy stunning views of the entire city. Afterwards, see the grand Pashupatinath temple, one of the holiest Hindu temple. Post lunch, visit Bhadgaon where you will come across works of medieval art and architecture. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 12: Kathmandu

This day is free for personal leisure activities. Overnight stay at the hotel

Day 13: Kathmandu - Delhi

Check out from the hotel and board a flight for Delhi. Upon arrival in Delhi - you will be met & transferred to the hotel. Later transfer to International airport for flight to back home.

Day 14: Delhi - Abroad

Depart Delhi
