Day 03: Mahabalipuram
Explore the city of Mahabalipuram at leisure. See the 7th century Shore Temple built in pagoda style. Stunning examples of Dravidian architecture, these temples are famous all over the world for their rock-cut carvings.
Afternoon at leisure for own activities with overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 04: Mahabalipuram - Pondicherry
Morning drive to Pondicherry (140 kms). Upon arrival, check-in at hotel. Relax a while and then explore this small town that still retains its French ambience. Visit the Eglise De Sacre Coeur De Jesus and Sri Aurobindo Ashram and the novel township of Auroville. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 05: Pondicherry - Tanjore
Drive to Tanjore- 190 kms away and check-in at hotel on arrival. After freshening up, embark on a city tour of Tanjore with visits to the Brahadeeswarar temple. The temple is known for its soaring tower (62 metres high) over the inner sanctum. On its dome rests a single block of granite weighing 80 tons. Overnight stay at the hotel
Day 06: Tanjore - Trichy - Madurai
Undertake a drive to Madurai (190 kms) with a stopover at Trichy. In Trichy, enjoy the sight of 'Rock Fort Temple- that houses the Fort, Mathrubhuteshwarer Shrine dedicated to Shiva and a Ganesh Temple.
Continue drive to Madurai and upon arrival check-in at hotel.
Day 07: Madurai
Post breakfast, visit the renowned Meenakshi temple and see its Hall of a "Thousand Pillars that was built in the 16th century.
Afternoon is free for leisure activities such as shopping etc with overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 08: Madurai - Periyar
Set out for Periyar early in the morning, situated at a distance of 180 kms. Upon arrival, check-in at hotel and relax for the day.
Day 09: Periyar - Kumarakom - Houseboat
Visit the world famous Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary and explore the rich flora and fauna of the region through wildlife safaris within the park. Afterwards, visit the 'Ghats' of Kerala that are home to prosperous tea plantations. Post lunch, drive to the backwater village of Kumarakom and board the 'Kettuvallam'- the specialized houseboats of Kerala. Float along on the backwaters and spend the night aboard the houseboat.
Day 10: Houseboat - Cochin
Have breakfast aboard the houseboat and disembark at Alleppey. A car will be waiting at Alleppey to take you to Cochin (90 km) where you can check-in at hotel. In the evening, you will be regaled by a classical Kathakali performance at the hotel. Enjoy a sumptuous dinner and retire for overnight stay.
Day 11: Cochin
Visit the tourist attractions of Cochin such as the Dutch Palace, the Jewish Synagogue, the Church of St. Francis & the famous Chinese fishing nets. Spend the rest of the day at leisure, lazing around at the beach, if you so wish. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 12 Cochin - Abroad
Transfer to the international airport for flight for back home.
